Margo Price & Annie Nelson Join Farm Aid Board of Directors
Farm Aid added singer-songwriter Margo Price and activist Annie Nelson to its Board Of Directors. Margo and Annie join a board that already included Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, Neil Young and six industry professionals.
Price made her Farm Aid debut in 2016 and has performed at the event each year since. Farm Aid’s mission is to help protect and support family farmers. The organization hosts an annual benefit concert with the 2020 installment held virtually due to the pandemic.
“It is always a thrill to perform alongside my heroes on the Farm Aid stage, and it is one of the greatest honors of my life to become a member of the Farm Aid board,” Price, who along with Annie Nelson was voted to the board unanimously, said. “It’s been a dream of mine to help family farmers and communities across America ever since my family lost their farm in the fall of 1984 – a year before the first Farm Aid concert. I hope to use my voice to shine light on the issues of climate change, our health and the health of our soil and water, and, most importantly, food justice.”
The last artist added to the board was Dave Matthews, who was appointed back in 2001. Young, Nelson and Mellencamp are founding members of Farm Aid’s board.
