Coldplay capped a four-night run at Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna, Austria with a final concert on Sunday night. The band once again tapped opener Maggie Rogers to assist on a cover of a Taylor Swift song.

Coldplay’s concerts at Ernst Happel Stadion came weeks after Swift’s The Eras Tour stop at the stadium was canceled after a 19-year-old man was arrested for plotting to carry out a terror attack at one of her shows. Coldplay brought out Rogers on night one of the run to help cover Swift’s “Love Story.” The third show saw Rogers emerge to join frontman on Swift’s hit “Shake It Off.”

During Sunday’s concert, Martin spoke about the recent events, telling the crowd at Ernst Happel Stadion:

“Ok now listen, let me explain: ok so everybody knows what happened here a few weeks ago and we wanted to every night to honor all the Swifties and to say we’re so sorry that those concerts were canceled. And we’re so lucky because of your amazing authorities that we were able to do our shows. And we feel so grateful for being able to do our shows here. We thank everybody for keeping us safe. And we also send love to those young men who maybe need some good guidance. Some kind and loving guidance and not this crazy brainwashing machine.

“What I want to say to you is I’m sorry that Taylor was not able to come, through no fault of her own. This is our last show here in [Austria] and we’d like to do a special Taylor Swift thing today, which makes me excited because this is my favorite Taylor Swift song of all. I think she’s brilliant and wonderful and a genius and there’s a song of hers that just gets me to the core.”

Martin then summoned Rogers to participate in covering his favorite Swift song, “the 1,” from Swift’s 2020 album, folklore. Watch their performance below:

Following a record-breaking run at London’s Wembley Stadium that concluded the European leg of The Eras Tour, Taylor Swift will resume her massively popular tour in North America in late October.

Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Tour wraps its European leg with four shows in Dublin, Ireland, beginning on Thursday, August 29. The British band heads to Australia and New Zealand in October and November.
