Lotus Are ‘Watching The Distant Storm’ In Latest ‘How To Dream In Color’ Preview

Lotus shared a new single, “Watching the Distant Storm.” The track will land on the jamtronica quartet’s upcoming album, How to Dream in Color, due out on July 11.
Lotus — guitarist Tim Palmieri, drummer Mike Greenfield, bassist Jesse Miller and keyboardist/guitarist Luke Miller — announced their eleventh studio album, How to Dream in Color in May and shared the lead single “How Do I Come Down.”

The band now follows with the silky new track “Watching the Distant Storm,” which press materials for the single detailed.
Inspired by the breathtaking spectacle of a thunderstorm rolling across a scenic horizon, “Watching the Distant Storm” encapsulates the spellbinding sensation of witnessing nature’s raw power. This evocative track combines retro synth layers, cut-up vocal samples, and funky guitar and bass to create an emotional groove that transforms an initially melancholy motif into a vivid, emotive experience.
“Watching the Distant Storm” arrived with an accompanying visual edited by Jesse Miller. The video combines live footage shot by MK Devo and psychedelic visuals. Watch below.
