Watch Les Claypool & Adrian Belew Team Up For King Crimson’s ‘Thela Hun Ginjeet’

Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade’s Summer Of Green Tour and Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew’s Remain In Light Tour are currently linked up for a run of shows together. Bassist Les Claypool recently joined his tour mates, coming out to sit in on King Crimson’s prog classic “Thela Hun Ginjeet.”

Belew co-wrote “Thela Hun Ginjeet” with King Crimson’s Robert Fripp, Bill Bruford and Tony Levin. The song appeared on the 1981 album, Discipline, and was issued as its lead single.

Claypool has covered “Thela Hun Ginjeet” in a variety of settings with his various projects, including the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade. The band kicked off the Summer Of Green Tour, their first tour in 20 years, by opening the first show with “Thela Hun Ginjeet.” A version of the song also appeared on the Frog Brigade’s 2001 live album.

Belew and the Remain In Light Tour band — which includes Cool Cool Cool, bassist Julie Slick and percussionist Yahuba Garcia-Torres — welcomed Claypool out for “Thela Hun Ginjeet” on Tuesday, June 13 at Music Hall in Dallas. Harrison has typically sat out performances of “Thela” on the tour.
