Jim James Announces LA Show & To Play ‘With A Lil Help From Our Friends’ Benefit

My Morning Jacket recently revealed their upcoming New Year’s Run in Colorado will be the group’s last U.S. dates until 2019. Band members are set to focus on various non-Jacket projects in 2018 with frontman Jim James expected to continue his solo career. James recently revealed a pair of upcoming appearances.

Jim James, who will issue A Tribute To 2 on December 8, has been added to the lineup of a benefit concert hosted by Newport Folk Presents & The Suffers at the House Of Blues Houston on December 22. The vocalist/guitarist joins a With A Lil Help From Our Friends lineup that includes Houston’s own The Suffers as well as Nicole Atkins, The Texas Gentlemen, Matthew Logan, Wild Child and Shakey Graves. All proceeds from the show and a silent auction will benefit the Greater Houston Community Foundation with a focus on flood relief efforts. Tickets are on sale now via Live Nation.
