7 New Albums Out Now From The Mountain Goats, Karol G, Stray Kids & More

The Mountain Goats shared a new album, Days, through their own Cadmean Dawn Records. Days is Mountain Goats’ 24th full-length album. The band’s John Darnielle, Matt Douglas and Jon Wurster took to Sear Sound in Manhattan to cut the record. After working with the band on 2011’s All Eternals Deck, renowned producer John Congleton reconvened with Mountain Goats to helm Days, which also saw contributions from Rob Jost on bass/French horn, Mikaela Davis on harp and backing vocals from Catherine Russell, Jamie Leonhart, Carolyn Leonhart, Janis Siegel and Matt Nathanson.

Mountain Goats leader John Darnielle further detailed Days:

“This album began life as Grunges, a sequel to Goths, after I made a joke on social media about writing a song called ‘Contemplating Pearl Jam in the Carolina Dawn.’ A few months later my wife left town for a two week residency in Virginia. My wife leaving town to play hockey in Banff is how All Hail West Texas happened. These songs are loosely about the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, which is to say they’re about the accumulation of days, each one a little further back than the next, sometimes miraculously seeming clearer as they recede and sometimes blurring into unrecognizable shapes which are sometimes pleasant and sometimes troubling.

“Most songs here are in major keys but don’t let that fool you. If you do let that fool you I have a bridge to sell you; there is nothing on the other side of the bridge. Still, you shouldn’t let that deter you. Who am I to tell you what kind of bridge you need, or where the bridge you need should lead? Nobody, really. Nobody at all.”

Colombian Latin superstar Karol G released her sixth studio album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, via Bichota Records/Interscope Records. The follow-up to 2025’s Tropicoqueta was produced in part by Tainy and features Drake on “Ahí,” Bruno Mars on “Still,” Judeline and Rusowsky on “BbY WOW” and Greg Gonzalez of Cigarettes After Sex on “Después de ti.”

South Korean K-pop group Stray Kids posted their 10th mini-album, THIS & THAT, via JYP Entertainment/Republic Records. The follow-up to 2025’s KARMA was written and produced entirely by the group’s in-house production unit 3Racha — Bang Chan, Changbin and Han — across all eight tracks.

Northern California singer-songwriter Margaret Glaspy issued her fourth studio album, I Am Both, via ATO Records. Produced by three-time Grammy winner Joe Henry and recorded live at Reservoir Studios in New York City, the follow-up to 2023’s Echo The Diamond features drummer Jay Bellerose, keyboardist Patrick Warren and bassist Ross Gallagher.

“When I started writing for this record I had a goal of getting my practice back — to walk the walk in terms of how I envision myself as a songwriter,” Glaspy said. “At first it was really hard to break that addiction to social media, but after a while something shifted. It felt like I’d gotten back to original thought instead of being under the influence of so many outside opinions. It was life-changing.”

Jazz/neo-soul supergroup Dinner Party released their third studio effort, Whatchu Bringing?, through Sounds of Crenshaw/EMPIRE. The project consists of drummer Terrace Martin, keyboardist Robert Glasper, saxophonist Kamasi Washington and producer/DJ 9th Wonder. The follow-up to the collectives 2023 release, Enigmatic Society, was made in close collaboration with producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Phoelix, who appears on seven of the nine tracks. Poet and spoken word artist J. Ivy features on opening track “Stop Being Late.”

ROLE MODEL — Maine-born singer-songwriter Tucker Pillsbury — shared his third studio album, Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, through Interscope Records. The follow-up to 2024’s Kansas Anymore is built around Chuck Timely, a time-traveling alter ego Pillsbury developed midway through recording.

“I’m hitting that age now where a lot of people are getting married around me, and there’s a lot of feeling stagnant and feeling like everybody’s moving ahead in their lives and taking those steps and starting families,” Pillsbury said. “There’s a lot about wanting to go back in time and change other things in my life. It just seemed like time was obviously very much on my mind throughout all the songs I wrote.”

California punk quintet Ceremony put out their seventh studio album, Tell Me Your Dream, on Relapse Records. Vocalist Ross Farrar, guitarist-keyboardist Anthony Anzaldo, guitarist Andy Nelson, bassist Justin Davis and drummer Jake Casarotti recorded the 10-track album with producer John Reis, who previously worked with the band on 2015’s The L-Shaped Man.

“Tell me your dream in a time when intimacy and vulnerability seem neglected,” Farrar said. “Tell me your dream when reciprocity has become a contract. Tell me your dream when they ask, ‘What do you do?’ Something untrained by the mind that sparks inspiration.”
