My Morning Jacket Announces New Year’s Run Will Be Last US Dates Until 2019

Louisville rockers My Morning Jacket will end 2017 and ring in 2018 with a three-night New Year’s Run at 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. Today the band revealed these concerts will be their last in the U.S. until 2019.

My Morning Jacket will host their One Big Holiday destination event March 2 – 6 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and then band members will focus on their solo projects. Frontman Jim James will soon release his Tribute To 2 covers compilation, while Bo Koster will continue along with Roger Waters’ Us + Them World Tour in 2018. Bo and Carl Broemel also performed on Ray LaMontagne’s forthcoming 2018 studio album. Carl has a tour coming soon with Steelism, who will serve as the guitarist’s backing band. As for drummer Patrick Hallahan, he has teamed with Craig Pfunder to produce Petty Fest.

The group will be supported by special guests on all three nights of the upcoming New Year’s Run. Prince’s longtime backing band The Revolution open on December 29, tUnE-yArDs kick off the action on the 30th, while Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe have been tapped as support on New Year’s Eve.
