Stevie Nicks returned to late-night television on Tuesday as the musical guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Nicks performed her beloved solo hit “Stand Back” to end an episode helmed by guest host Jelly Roll.
Released in May 1983 as the lead single from Nicks’ second solo album, The Wild Heart, “Stand Back” became one of her signature songs. It reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the Billboard Top Rock Tracks chart.
“Stand Back” has remained a fixture of Nicks’ live performances for more than four decades. She described it in a 1988 radio interview as one of her favorite songs to perform, noting the distinctive energy it brings to her concerts.
Nicks was backed by her longtime solo band for the “Stand Back” performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. She now heads to Irvine on Saturday for an appearance at Olivia Rodrigo's inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival.
