Hurray for the Riff Raff (Alynda Segarra) recently brought “Buffalo” to The Kelly Clarkson Show. A video for the track off Segarra’s acclaimed 2024 album, The Past Is Still Alive, is out today.
Produced by Brad Cook and mixed by Bright Eyes’ Mike Mogis, The Past Is Still Alive arrived on February 23 and saw contributions from Bright Eyes’ Conor Oberst, S.G. Alynda detailed The Past Is Still Alive standout “Buffalo” and the accompanying video.
“I wrote ‘Buffalo’ about trying to keep a relationship alive in a fast-paced modern world where love can feel like it’s on the endangered species list,” they said. “On a rare night off of tour last month, we took over the Field Museum in Chicago, hanging with long-gone creatures from ages ago and eventually ending up on a wagon ride with a herd in Indiana. Making this video with The Past Is Still Alive‘s visual director Jeff Perlman was an adventure.”
For Segarra’s recent performance of “Buffalo” on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson noted that Segarra is “often called one of the best songwriters in the country.” Watch Hurray for the Riff Raff perform “Buffalo” on Kelly Clarkson and check out the official music video below:
