Dave Matthews Band Delivers Back-To-Back Bust Outs At Fiddler’s Green

Dave Matthews Band returned from a month-long break to resume their spring/summer tour with a two-night stand at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village, Colorado this past weekend. DMB dusted off a song shelved since 2022 at each show, reviving “Time Bomb” on Friday and “Eh Hee” on Saturday.

Friday marked Dave Matthews Band’s first concert since July 29. The group reached deep into its repertoire throughout the night, with “Busted Stuff,” “Come On Come On” and “Long Black Veil” each making just their second appearances of the tour.

The biggest rarity came late in the main set when DMB dusted off “Time Bomb” for the first time since May 21, 2022. The Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King track emerged between “Snow Outside” and “Drive In Drive Out” to end an absence of more than four years.

Other Friday highlights included “Jimi Thing” leading into Cameo’s “Word Up!,” along with a closing stretch featuring “Crash Into Me,” “Drunken Soldier” and “Stay (Wasting Time).” Dave Matthews opened the encore solo with “Baby Blue” before the full band returned for “Tripping Billies.”

Another lengthy gap came to an end on Saturday. DMB performed “Eh Hee” for the first time since September 14, 2022, snapping a nearly four-year drought for the Dave Matthews-penned song. “Eh Hee” was debuted by Dave Matthews & Friends during the group’s 2006 concert cruise. A studio version featuring all of the instrumnts played by Matthews was released in 2007.

Saturday’s show opened with Bob Dylan’s “All Along The Watchtower” and featured “Big Eyed Fish” into “Bartender,” “Sweet Up and Down,” “Say Goodbye,” “I Did It,” “#41” and more. “The Stone” closed the main set.

Matthews went it alone to start Saturday’s encore as well, delivering the tour debut of “Here On Out.” The full band then rejoined him for “What You Are” to complete the Fiddler’s Green run.

Dave Matthews Band now heads to Shakopee, Minnesota for a rescheduled show tonight, August 31. DMB will then close out the trek with their annual three-night Labor Day Weekend run at The Gorge in George, Washington.
