Greensky Bluegrass brought their fall tour to The Espee in San Antonio, Texas this past Sunday. The quintet welcomed tourmate Lindsay Lou for a Billy Strings cover and more.
Lindsay Lou joined GSBG on vocals toward the end of one long set in San Antonio beginning with Reverend Gary Davis’ “I Belong to the Band,” just the second performance by Greensky since they unveiled the tune in March, as per Phantasy Tour. Lou stayed on for Billy Strings’ “In The Morning Light.”
Billy co-wrote “In The Morning Light” with Greensky Bluegrass mandolinist Paul Hoffman. Lindsay Lou dueted with Hoffman in San Antonio on the song appearing on Strings’ 2021 album, Renewal. Watch the performance below:

Greensky Bluegrass kicked off their San Antonio show with the oldie, “Radio Blues,” followed by “Screams” from the quintet’s latest studio album, Stress Dreams. The band then broke out Benny Burle Galloway’s “What’s Left Of The Night” for the first time in 75 shows.
The set also contained covers of The Band’s “The Shape I’m In” and Jimi Hendrix’s “The Wind Cries Mary,” the latter last played on January 19, 2023. Following the Lindsay Lou sit-in, GSBG wrapped the set with “Who Is Frederico?” and “Leap Year.” The band launched the encore with Stress Dreams’ “Grow Together” before welcoming Lindsay once again to help them debut the traditional “Angel Band.”
Greensky Bluegrass’ tour with Lindsay Lou continues tonight in Memphis. Full tour routing below:
