Singer-songwriter Lindsay Lou began a run of 10 shows supporting Greensky Bluegrass on Tuesday at the Tower Theatre in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. GSBG brought out Lindsay Lou to add vocals to a debut J.J. Cale cover and Bruce Springsteen classic at the end of their first set on Tuesday.

Greensky Bluegrass — mandolinist Paul Hoffman, guitarist Dave Bruzza, dobro player Anders Beck, banjo wiz Michael Arlen Bont and bassist Mike Devol — launched their first of two sets in OKC by serving up takes on Flatt & Scruggs’ “Bringing In The Georgia Mail” and Michigan-based singer-songwriter Joshua Davis’ “Dustbowl Overtures.” The quintet then broke up performances of All For Money (2019) tracks “It’s Not Mine Anymore” and “Do It Alone” with “Living Over.” Next, GSBG offered fan-favorites “I’d Probably Kill You” and “Broke Mountain Breakdown.”

Lindsay Lou emerged over 13 minutes into the Anders Beck-penned “Broke Mountain Breakdown.” Lou, who like GSBG originates from Michigan, fronted the band on their first version of J.J. Cale’s “Crazy Mama.” The Oklahoma City-born, Tulsa-raised Cale originally released the song on his 1971 debut studio album, Naturally. Lou stuck around to duet with Hoffman on a set-closing “Dancing In The Dark.”

Greensky Bluegrass delivered a 70-minute second set in OKC on Tuesday. The frame was heavy on songs from the mid-2010s including “Past My Prime,” “Room Without A Roof,” “Courage For The Road” and “The Four.” Additionally, the band played “The Radio Blues” and “Train Junkie,” which each date back to their formative years. “Screams” was the evening’s lone offering off 2022’s Stress Dreams, Greensky’s latest studio album. The five-piece jamgrass act wrapped the concert with Hoffman’s “Old Barns.”
