Graham Nash announced a new live album, Graham Nash: Live, due out via Proper Records on May 6. Nash previewed the record with a live version of his 1971 classic, “Military Madness.”

Captured while on tour in the Northeastern U.S. in September 2019, Graham Nash: Live sees the legendary singer-songwriter performing his first two solo albums, Songs For Beginners and Wild Tales, in their entirety. Nash’s debut solo album, Songs For Beginners, came out in May 1971 and contained Nash solo classics like the aforementioned “Military Madness,” “Chicago/We Can Change the World,” “Simple Man” and more. Wild Tales arrived in 1974 and boasts tunes like “Prison Song,” “Oh! Camil” and “You’ll Never Be the Same.”

Graham shared some thoughts on his early solo material including how the songs are still relevant today:

I’ve been trying to figure out why Songs For Beginners and Wild Tales [were] so popular and I think it’s that intimacy and that immediacy of my emotions We’re supposed to learn from history and it doesn’t appear as if we’re learning much. Songs like ‘Military Madness’…is that not relevant today? The hope that we can change the world, isn’t that still relevant today? I’m very flattered that my music seems to have lasted this long, but I’m also a little upset that we have to keep singing a song like ‘Military Madness’ right up to the present. Enough already!
