Olivia Dean Covers Prince Classic In Minneapolis
Watch the British singer work through “I Wanna Be Your Lover.”

Olivia Dean brought her The Art Of Loving Tour to the Twin Cities on Wednesday. The British singer-songwriter nodded to Minneapolis native and late icon Prince with a take on his “I Wanna Be Your Lover” at the Target Center.
Dean is touring around her 2025 album The Art Of Loving. She delivered all 12 tracks from the album throughout the show including favorites “Man I Need,” “So Easy (To Fall in Love)” and “Nice to Each Other.”
Additionally Dean took it back to her 2023 debut full-length album, Messy, including the title track and the hit “Dive.”
Olivia Dean covered Prince’s “I Wanna Be Your Lover” in the 20th song slot of the 24-tune set. The track is off the legendary artist’s 1979 self-titled album. Dean reportedly visited Prince’s home/studio Paisley Park the day ahead of her performance in Minneapolis and her band also teased “Controversy” during introductions.
