Gracie Abrams Premieres New Song ‘Mini Bar’ With Audrey Hobert At The Forum

Gracie Abrams brought her The Secret Of Us Deluxe Tour home to the Los Angeles area Wednesday for her first of two shows at The Forum. Abrams recruited Audrey Hobert to join her at the start of the encore to perform a pair of songs they wrote together, one of which was a live debut.

The pop star described Hobert as her “best friend, also soul mate and also my favorite artist in the world.” Audrey wrote seven of the 17 tracks featured on Abrams’ sophomore album, The Secret Of Us (Deluxe). Hobert told the audience about how she met Abrams in fifth grade through a mutual friend. “And in that moment we knew that 10, 15 years later we’d be at the Forum,” Gracie quipped.

After discussing their friendship and how hard it’s been to spend so much time apart as Abrams has been touring the world, the former roommates revealed they’d perform a song that no one had ever heard before. Gracie said they wrote the song around the time they penned The Secret Of Us (Deluxe) standout “That’s So True” and then began “Mini Bar.”

Abrams and Hobert swapped verses and harmonized throughout the premiere, which featured Gracie on acoustic guitar as the lone instrumental accompaniment. The pair kept their eyes on each other while they unveiled “Mini Bar.”

Audrey Hobert stayed on stage to perform “That’s So True” with Gracie Abrams and her touring band. Abrams punctuated the concert with “Close To You” sans Hobert. Earlier in the night, Abrams played “405” and “In Between” on piano as the first “surprise songs” of the show to start the b-stage interlude.

Gracie Abrams returns to The Forum tonight. On Saturday, August 9, Abrams will perform at the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco. The set is among those scheduled to be livestreamed from Golden Gate Park.
