Gracie Abrams Brings Out Robyn For ‘Dancing On My Own’ Collaboration At Lollapalooza

In 2022, Gracie Abrams performed at Lollapalooza for the first time and covered Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” during her set on a side stage at Chicago’s Grant Park. Abrams was back at Lolla on Thursday and brought out Robyn at the close of her main stage set for another performance of “Dancing On My Own.”

Robyn has rarely performed live in public over the past five years. She participated in the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary concert in February at Radio City Music Hall and was accompanied by David Byrne on “Dancing On My Own” and Talking Heads’ “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody).”

As “Close To You” from Abrams’ 2023 sophomore album, The Secret Of Us, was winding down, she set up the surprise sit-in.

“All right, Lollapalooza, last time we played was in 2022, and I covered my favorite song of all time,” Abrams told the massive Grant Park crowd. “Ultimately, the best song ever written, ‘Dancing On My Own’ by Robyn. And by some miracle, the queen herself is here with us tonight! Everybody give it up for Robyn!”

“Dancing On My Own” was released on Robyn’s 2010 album, Body Talk Pt. 1. Abrams and Robyn rounded out their collab by interpolating “Close To You” in the ending of “Dancing On My Own.”
