Goose concluded a two-night run at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville on Saturday. The Connecticut-quintet closed out a jam-filled second set with a cover from My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James.
Goose launched the first frame with a big “jive” excursion on “Jive II” and “Jive Lee,” together stretching to around 26-minutes. “Lead The Way” fell in the third slot ahead of a 16-minute outing on “Earthling or Alien?” Goose closed out the first set with their recently debuted song, “California Magic.”

Goose kicked off the jam-heavy second set — only one song clocked in under 19 minutes — with a massive pairing of “rose” songs beginning with a 21-minute “Echo Of A Rose” and an equally expansive “Rosewood Heart” which returned to “Echo Of A Rose” to close out the 44-minute seamless opening segment. “Arcadia,” off Goose 2016 debut studio LP Moon Cabin, followed ahead of another recently unveiled original, “Red Bird,” which took flight for 20 minutes before heading into Jim James’ “State Of The Art (A.E.I.O.U).”
The song is the opening track on the MMJ frontman’s 2013 debut solo album, Regions of Light and Sound of God. Goose first played the James solo cut on September 17, 2020 at South Farms in Morris, Connecticut. The band capped off the second set with the choice James cover. Goose would return to encore with a substantial version of the title track to their upcoming album, Dripfield.
