George Clinton Expands Farewell Tour With Parliament Funkadelic Featuring Galactic, Dumpstaphunk & More

George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic extended their “One Nation Under A Groove” farewell tour with the addition of 12 new dates. Galactic, Dumpstaphunk, Fishbone and Miss Velvet and the Blue Wolf [MV&TBW] will open select dates of the run, which now spans May 30 – August 25.

Clinton is expected to retire after 50 years on the road following the tour. “It’s always been about the music and the band” said George who added, “That’s the real P-Funk legacy. They’ll still be funkin’ long after I stop.” Wednesday’s announcement comes a few months after many of the dates for the tour were revealed. The first of the new performances will take place at Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh on June 7 with Fishbone and MV&TBW tapped to open. Galactic joins in for a show on June 11 in Lewiston, while Dumpstaphunk takes Galactic’s spot on June 20 in Sterling Heights, Michigan and on June 21 in Madison, Wisconsin.

The tour continues on June 22 with Fishbone and MV&TBW as support. Galactic returns to the lineup for a performance at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre on July 25 and swaps out for Dumpstaphunk on July 26 in Nashville and July 27 in Greensboro. Also added are shows in Denver on August 15 and a swing through Texas that includes tops in Cedar Park on August 22, San Antonio on August 23, Dallas on August 23 and Houston on August 25. Fishbone, Dumpstaphunka and MV&TBW open in Texas.
