G. Love continues to preview his forthcoming studio album, Philadelphia Mississippi with the release of “Mississippi.” The LP’s third single features vocal contributions from Speech, Alvin Youngblood Hart and R.L. Boyce.

Philadelphia Mississippi is due out from the artist born Garrett Dutton on June 24 via Philadelphonic Records/Thirty Tigers. North Mississippi Allstars’ Luther Dickinson both produced and appears on the 13-track follow-up to 2020’s The Juice. Other musicians who contributed to Philadelphia Mississippi include Chuck Treece, Cam Kimbrough, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Jontavious Willis, Sharde Thomas and Southern Avenue’s Tikyra Jackson. G. Love previously released Philadelphia Mississippi singles “Laughing In The Sunshine” and “Love From Philly.”

G. Love shared the following about his new single:

“It’s hill country blues meets the golden age of hip-hop on ‘Mississippi.’ It’s the quintessential hip-hop blues track with a greasy lowdown groove laid down by Philly legend Chuck Treece, Alvin Youngblood Hart and producer Luther Dickinson, with epic vocal performances by Speech of Arrested Development, hill country blues master R.L. Boyce, Alvin and myself. Each lyricist tackles their own personal feelings and emotions on the history of Mississippi and the blues it gave birth to, with Boyce crying throughout… ‘Po Po Mississippi.'”
