Folk Bitch Trio recorded a “Like A Version” live session for Australian public service radio station triple j. The Melbourne/Naarm-based band performed “Sex On Fire” by Kings of Leon for the covers series and played a song from their debut album, Now Would Be A Good Time.
Folk Bitch Trio – Gracie Sinclair, Jeanie Pilkington and Heide Peverelle – met in high school and started making music together five years ago. The band will spend November touring North America in support of their first record.
“It’s a great song, it’s a really great song,” Pilkington told triple j of the Kings Of Leon cover. “Underrated song. It rocks. It’s filthy without you really knowing and then when you listen you’re like whoa … We decided this many years ago as a prank, as a gag, and then we did it.
“If they’d ever let us on ‘Like A Version,’ we said we’d do this one,” added Sinclair.
In addition to covering “Sex On Fire,” Folk Bitch Trio’s session was rounded out with the Now Would Be A Good Time single, “The Actor.” See Folk Bitch Trio performing both “Sex On Fire” and “The Actor” and hear the women discuss their “Like A Version” appearance via the below videos:
