The Disco Biscuits wrapped up their City Bisco run at the TD Pavilion at The Mann in their native Philadelphia on Sunday. The jamtronica quartet unveiled a new original and welcomed Philly’s own Tom Hamilton on guitar to close out the evening.
tDB — guitarist Jon Gutwillig, bassist Marc Brownstein, keyboardist Aron Magner and drummer Allen Aucoin — launched night two of City Bisco with “We Like To Party” before finishing up the “Spacebirdmatingcall” they started the night previous. The quartet then turned to new material with “Freeze,” which tDB debuted recently at Atlanta’s Candler Park Music Festival.

From “Freeze,” the band transitioned into another relatively new number, “Anthem,” a song Bisco debuted in Fall 2019. To close out the seamless first set, tDB performed the ending of the classic staple “Above The Waves.”
LP Giobbi would deliver a DJ set during set break and The Disco Biscuits jammed out of her set to kick off the second frame before segueing into their recently released single “Lake Shore Drive,” their first studio release in over a decade. The band then unveiled a brand new original, “One Chance.”
tDB then went inverted for the classic “Confrontation” ahead of a return to more recent material with “Space Train,” which the quartet debuted earlier this month in Maine. Bisco kept up the fresh material, flowing from “Space Train” into “Vibes,” marking just the third play of the song since its debut in March 2022.
The Disco Biscuits, however, took it back to close another seamless set with the vintage “Morph Dusseldorf,” which featured Tom Hamilton on guitar. The tDB classic closed out the second set. Hamilton would come back out with The Disco Biscuits for the encore, a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Run Like Hell” to wrap up City Bisco 2022.
