The Disco Biscuits provided fans with a special Christmas gift yesterday by releasing Live From Austin, TX. The 13-track effort recorded live at Austin’s Empire Garage on September 16, 2023, marks the quartet’s first official live album since 2017.

The band — guitarist Jon Gutwillig, bassist Marc Brownstein, keyboardist Aron Magner and drummer Allen Aucoin — tapped sound engineer Rich Steele to mix and master the original live recording for official release. Live From Austin, TX is out now via The Orchard on all major streaming services.

Bisco went relatively hard in 2023 playing over 70 shows and unveiling a handful of new original songs. Three of those 2023 debuts — “Photograph,” “Falling” and “Buy The Time” — are included on Live From Austin, TX. Plenty of classics are also featured on the new release such as beloved favorites “Aceetobee,” “I-Man” and “Spacebirdmatingcall.”

Keyboardist Aron Magner shared the following in regards to the new live release:

We took a listen back to some of our favorite shows from this year, and this one continued to stand out. We feel like it has everything we want a 2023 Biscuits show to be: a super strong standalone opener (AC2B), a few fun bustouts (Therapy, Neck Romancer), some killer versions of newer songs (APOA, Photograph, Deal, Falling, Buy The Time), and of course plenty of deep improv (Jam → I-Man, Spacebird). We hope you enjoy listening to this live recording as much as we do!
