Watch The Roots’ ‘Captain’ Kirk Douglas Join Dinosaur Jr. For Expansive Neil Young Cover

Dinosaur Jr.’s seven-show residency at Brooklyn’s Music Hall Of Williamsburg celebrating the 30th anniversary of their album, Where You Been, concluded with a final guest-filled concert on Friday night. The Roots guitarist “Captain” Kirk Douglas was among those who joined the band, sitting in on a Neil Young song.

While previous nights of Dinosaur Jr.’s Brooklyn residency saw Warren Haynes, Jason Isbell, Kurt Vile and Lee Ranaldo accompany the band on Neil Young’s “Cortez The Killer,” Friday’s concert saw Douglas collaborating on Young’s “Down By The River.” The Roots guitarist’s appearance followed guest spots by Luluc, Ian Williams and TV On the Radio’s Kyp Malone joining guitarist J Mascis, bassist Lou Barlow and drummer Murph throughout the show.
