Dawes detailed a new album, Live From The Rooftop (Los Angeles, CA 8.28.20), due out on April 22. The L.A. rockers previewed the live record with the track “Somewhere Along The Way.”
Live From The Rooftop follows Dawes’ 2021 live release Live At Hotel Cafe, 2/12/08 also recorded in Los Angeles. The group’s last studio album, Good Luck With Whatever, arrived in October 2020.

The aptly named Live From The Rooftop is a recording of Dawes’ August 28, 2020 rooftop livestream concert. Frontman and guitarist Taylor Goldsmith detailed the live LP along with the performance of “Somewhere Along The Way” on the band’s website:
This was the first time we played together since the world had shut down. So playing together felt radioactive. I remember this song in particular felt ecstatic to me. Hopefully you can still hear it in there.
“Somewhere Along The Way” originally appears on Dawes’ 2015 studio album, All Your Favorite Bands. Watch Taylor lead the group through the nine-minute Live On The Rooftop version below:
