David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash have stood in support of their Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young bandmate Neil Young by requesting their labels pull collective and solo recordings from Spotify. Young recently had his music removed from the service to protest COVID-19 misinformation spread by Joe Rogan on his Spotify podcast.
“We support Neil and we agree with him that there is dangerous disinformation being aired on Spotify’s Joe Rogan podcast. While we always value alternate points of view, knowingly spreading disinformation during this global pandemic has deadly consequences,” Crosby, Stills and Nash wrote in a unified statement. “Until real action is taken to show that a concern for humanity must be balanced with commerce, we don’t want our music – or the music we made together – to be on the same platform.” Crosby Stills Nash & Young last performed together in 2013.

Recordings from Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Crosby Stills & Nash and Crosby & Nash are being taken down from Spotify. While Graham Nash already started the process of having his music pulled, both David Crosby and Stephen Stills are doing the same with their solo catalogs. Joni Mitchell and India Arie are among other artists having their catalogs removed from the service.
Spotify, which hosts The Joe Rogan Experience, recently posted a note from founder Daniel Ek clarifying the service’s COVID-19 content policies in the wake of the protests. Ek announced Spotify would add warnings to podcast episodes discussing COVID-19.
