Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Offer More Bust Outs & Debuts At Riviera Maya Finale

Saturday night Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds concluded the inaugural Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Riviera Maya destination event at the Barceló Maya Beach Resort in Mexico. Once again the pair of Dave Matthews Band guitarists played a number of rarities and were joined by a special guest for new song debut.

Dave & Tim kicked off their set with “Little Thing” and “Funny The Way It Is.” Then the pair launched into their first performance of “The Song That Jane Likes” since 1999. They followed that bust out with their first time playing “You Might Die Trying.” Later in the set Matthews and Reynolds broke out “Raven” for the first time since 2012 and followed it with “Dive In” for the first time since 2011.

Reynolds went solo for a rendition of “Manfood” and again on “Wing It.” The duo was joined by Vusi Mahlasela for the debut of “Mother Of Africa,” which Matthews and the South African musician wrote and recorded for the documentary film Naledi: A Baby Elephant’s Tale. Mahlasela stuck around for a performance of “Everyday.” The first Dave & Tim offering of “Help Myself” since 2010 came toward the end of the set that was punctuated with “Tripping Billies.” Matthews played “Rye Whiskey” solo to open the first encore before Reynolds joined a cover of “All Along The Watchtower.” The duo returned for a second encore, wrapping the event with “So Much To Say” and one additional bust out in the form of their first “Stay (Wasting Time)” since 1999.
