Dave Matthews Band welcomed acclaimed jazz saxophonist Tia Fuller to share the stage on Tuesday in Gilford, New Hampshire. Fuller’s extended guest spot came during the septet’s first of two shows at the Bank Of New Hampshire Pavilion.

Tia Fuller, who in addition to her work with jazz artists toured as part of Beyoncé‘s “The Suga Mamas” ensemble in 2006, is currently teaching at Berklee College Of Music. Fuller made the trip to Gilford for the second year in a row.

The saxophonist previously joined Dave Matthews Band at the Bank Of New Hampshire Pavilion on July 12, 2022. Her guest appearance nearly one year to the day prior saw her add to originals “Jimi Thing” and “When The World Ends” as well as a debut cover of The Isley Brothers’ “It’s Your Thing,” which disappeared from the DMB repertoire after three additional plays in September 2022.

Last night, Fuller emerged midway through Dave Matthews Band’s 18-song main set in Gilford. Tia augmented the horn section of Jeff Coffin and Rashawn Ross on another extended “Jimi Thing.” The Aurora, Colorado native took a powerful solo that sent the crowd into hysterics. DMB and Tia Fuller worked “Jimi Thing” into the recently debuted cover of the Commodores' 1977 hit “Brick House.”

The 47-year-old musician stuck around for the ensuing “What Would You Say.” Originally released in September 1994 as the lead single from DMB’s debut album Under The Table And Dreaming, the song broke the group through to a mainstream audience. Blues Traveler frontman John Popper provided a harmonica solo on the studio version. On Tuesday in Gilford it was Fuller who took the solo made famous by Popper.
