Dave Matthews Band Offers Debut & Rarity In Dallas

Dave Matthews Band continued their first tour since 2016 with their second of three shows in the Lonestar State. On Saturday night the seven-piece band was in Dallas for a gig at the Dos Equis Pavilion that saw them once again offer up a debut and dig into their catalog for a rarity.

DMB’s night in Dallas got underway with “Do You Remember” from their soon to be released album Come Tomorrow. From there, the septet offered a string of tour debuts to open the show as they worked their way through “The Best Of What’s Around,” “Crash Into Me,” “You Never Know” and “Funny The Way It Is.” The first surprise of the night followed as Dave Matthews & Co. delivered “Steady As We Go.” It was just the second time the tune from Stand Up had seen action since 2006.

The pairing of old-school fan-favorites “Dancing Nancies” and “Warehouse” followed with “The Space Between” coming ahead of the debut “She” the second song of the night from their forthcoming record. The back half of their 18-song main set saw the band reach back to their debut album Remember Two Things for “Minarets” and “The Song That Jane Likes.” “Stand Up (For It)” was played for the second night in a row after sitting on the shelf of nearly 800 shows, with “Ants Marching” tapped to close things out.

Dave Matthews Band returned to the stage for a three-song encore as the live-staple “Granny” was followed by “Crush” and “Tripping Billies.” DMB will wrap up their trio of Texas shows on Tuesday as they pull into the state capital for a gig at the Austin360 Amphitheater.
