Bruce Springsteen Offers Tour Debuts & Overcomes Power Outage In Paris

Last night Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band continued their European The River Tour at AccorHotels Arena in Paris, France. The Boss offered a number of tour debuts for his Parisian fans while also having to deal with a power outage toward the end of the concert.
Springsteen came out and started the show performing a lengthy rendition of the tour’s first “Incident on 57th Street” on solo piano. The band then joined for the tour debut of “Reason To Believe” which was followed by longtime favorite “Badlands” and then the first “Into The Fire” since 2012.
Following a sequence of The River tracks “The Ties That Bind,” “Sherry Darling,” “Jackson Cage,” “Two Hearts,” “Independence Day,” “Hungry Heart,” “Out in the Street,” “Crush on You,” and “You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch), Bruce and the band took on the Wrecking Ball cut “Death to My Hometown.” Springsteen played solo acoustic guitar for the subsequent first “Nebraska” of the tour.
After opening the first encore with “Jungleland,” Bruce brought out his longtime collaborator Elliott Murphy and his son Gaspard Murphy to add extra guitars to “Born To Run.” During the following performance of The River tune “Ramrod” the power inside the arena went out. Bruce and members of the band took up instruments and paraded through the venue while staff worked to get the power situation fixed. According to a note on Setlist.fm:
[T]he main power went down due to a short-circuit. Bruce and band stayed onstage and signed autographs for about 15 minutes. The remainder of the show was played with only the house lights on and without video.
Restarting the show with the apt “Dancing In The Dark,” “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,” a cover of “Shout” and “Bobby Jean” ended the encore. Springsteen returned to the stage alone to offer a solo acoustic take on “Thunder Road” ending the long night in Paris. View audience-shot footage of last night’s show below.
