Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band brought their 2023 International Tour to Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday. The Boss and company delivered the tour debut of “Jungleland” to kick off the encore at The Garden.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band last performed in New York City on April 25, 2016 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn (where they will play tonight). “Jungleland” closes out Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s landmark 1975 album, Born To Run. The 2023 MSG performance marked the first time Springsteen and company performed the song since 2017.

As an epic song about life on the streets in mid-20th century New Jersey, “Jungleland” contains references to both New York City — where the song debuted in 1974 — and Bruce’s home state, which had the audience engaged from Roy Bittan’s classic piano opening. Additionally, saxophonist Jake Clemons characteristically nailed his late uncle Clarence “Big Man” Clemons’ iconic sax solo.
“We got something special for New York City,” The Boss said to introduce the song. Watch Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on the tour debut of “Jungleland” at Madison Square Garden below:
