Bone Diggers will explore two sides of Paul Simon’s songbook during their Halloween concert at The Chapel in San Francisco on Saturday, October 31. Reed Mathis and Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz will open the evening with a special mini-set of Simon & Garfunkel songs as a duo before expanding to a quartet.

Holly Bowling on keyboards and Tea Leaf Green drummer Scott Rager will then join Mathis and Lebo for the full Bone Diggers performance. The Halloween lineup features Mathis on bass and ALO member Lebo on guitar.

Billed as The Paul Simon Halloween Ball, the concert has moved to The Chapel’s outdoor stage, where Mad Alchemy Liquid Light Show will provide visuals. The evening will unfold as one continuous set from 8 to 10 p.m. PT. Costumes are encouraged.

Mathis launched Bone Diggers in 2018 as a vehicle for exploring Simon’s catalog with Lebo as co-pilot and a rotating cast of collaborators. The band builds its performances around improvisation and reworked arrangements, drawing on both familiar songs and deeper selections.

The Halloween weekend festivities begin indoors at The Chapel on Friday, October 30 with Lebo’s A Night Of The Living Dead. The Grateful Dead tribute will feature Bowling, Wally Ingram, Elliott Peck, Steve Adams, Danny Luehring and special guests. Mad Alchemy will also supply the liquid light show for Friday’s concert, which starts at 8:30 p.m. PT.

Doors for Saturday’s all-ages Bone Diggers show open at 7 p.m. PT. Tickets are on sale now.
