Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band stopped through Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota on Sunday. The Boss dusted off the traditional song, “Pay Me My Money Down,” for the first time since 2014.

“Pay Me My Money” down was one of two tour debuts in St. Paul along with “Working On The Highway.” The songs replaced “Out In The Street” and “Johnny 99” respectively, which were both dropped from the setlist for the first time on the 2023 tour.

Springsteen included the traditional “Pay Me My Money Down” on his 2006 album We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions as the song was a staple of folk legend Pete Seeger’s group The Weavers. Bruce Springsteen had not played “Pay Me My Money Down” since his performance with The E Street Band at the New Orleans Jazz Fest on May 3, 2014.
