Bright Eyes & Phoebe Bridgers Cover Elliott Smith’s ‘St. Ides Heaven’
The track comes from the 'Letting Off The Happiness: A Companion' reissue EP.
A total of nine Bright Eyes studio albums are set to be reissued, each with accompanying Companion EPs. The band that was formed by Conor Oberst in 1995, will initiate the reissue series on May 27 with new editions and Companion EPs for their first three albums, A Collection of Songs Written And Recorded 1995-1997, the aforementioned Letting Off The Happiness and Fevers And Mirrors.
Bright Eyes previously previewed the Companion EP series with the singles “Falling Out of Love At This Volume” from their debut album, “Contrast And Compare” featuring Waxahatchee from Letting Off The Happiness and “Haligh, Haligh, A Lie, Haligh” featuring Bridgers off Fevers And Mirrors. Bridgers and Oberst are both members of the group Better Oblivion Community Center.
“St. Ides Heaven” was recorded by Elliott Smith and released on the late singer-songwriter’s 1995 self-titled album. Stream Bright Eyes featuring Phoebe Bridgers covering Elliott Smith’s “St. Ides Heaven” below:
