The Bob Weir And Wolf Bros lineup for the shows finds the Grateful Dead/Dead & Company guitarist backed by drummer Jay Lane, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and bassist Don Was as well as pedal steel guitarist and The Wolfpack strings and horns. Special guest announcements are forthcoming.
“The evenings will feature signature Weir-written Grateful Dead classics; ‘Greatest Story Ever Told,’ ‘Cassidy,’ ‘Playing In The Band,’ ‘Looks Like Rain,’ ‘Black-Throated Wind’ and more,” as per Bobby’s social media posts heralding the upcoming concerts. All five tracks mentioned appear on Ace. Bobby recorded the LP at San Francisco’s Wally Heider Studios. Weir’s Grateful Dead bandmates Jerry Garcia, Keith Godchaux, Bill Kreutzmann, Donna Jean Godchaux and Phil Lesh each contributed to Ace, which came out on May 1, 1972.
