Axl Rose Guests With Billy Joel On AC/DC Cover & ‘Big Shot’ In Minneapolis

By Scott Bernstein Jul 31, 2017 12:02 pm PDT

Back in May Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose made a surprise appearance at Dodger Stadium to perform with Billy Joel. It didn’t take long for Axl to sit-in with Billy and his band again as Rose performed a pair of songs with Joel at Target Field in Minneapolis on Friday night.

Axl Rose had the night off from GN’R’s North American Summer Tour which hit Minneapolis’s U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday. Rose emerged towards the end of The Piano Man’s main set to lead a cover of AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell.” The GN’R vocalist is no stranger to the tune having joined AC/DC as frontman on tour last year. Axl had also sung “Highway To Hell” at Dodger Stadium. Billy Joel’s encore in Minneapolis featured two guest spots. Not only did Rose lead “Big Shot,” but Gavin DeGraw lent a hand on the “You May Be Right” finale.
