Chris Robinson, Robert Randolph, Charlotte Lawrence & More Join Chad Smith & Andrew Watt At Brooklyn Bowl

Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and super producer Andrew Watt presided over a guest-filled concert at Brooklyn Bowl on Wednesday. Chris Robinson, Robert Randolph, Jimmy Fallon and Charlotte Lawrence were among the pair’s guests in Brooklyn.

A month ago, Smith & Watt welcomed Sir Paul McCartney during their intimate concert at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, New York. The drummer and guitarist continued their star-studded streak with their Brooklyn Bowl play last night.

The set was loaded with rock ‘n’ roll classics and kicked off with The Who anthem “Baba O’Riley.” Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy,” The Ramones’ “Beat on the Brat” and David Bowie’s “Ziggy Stardust” followed.

Jimmy Fallon, whose 50th birthday is today, comedically interupted Sam & Dave’s “Hold On, I’m Comin,” to front the band on The Doors’ “Roadhouse Blues.” Check out that performance below:

After “Happy Birthday to You” for Fallon, Jimmy’s Tonight Show colleague Black Thought led the group through The Roots’ “The Seed (2.0)” as well as Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya.”

Andrew Watt’s girlfriend, model/singer-songwriter Charlotte Lawrence, then got in on the fun for Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” The Police’s “Roxanne” and The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven.” Next, sacred steel ace Robert Randolph came on for the rest of the set full of Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin favorites. The Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson also led the way on a Faces classic.

Randolph stuck around for the encore of Prince’s “Purple Rain,” The Allman Brothers Band’ “Whipping Post” and Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” to put an exclamation point on the eventful performance.
