Earlier this year we told you about 12-year-old piano prodigy Owen York who wowed Umphrey’s McGee fans with an impromptu performance in NYC and later with an impressive medley of UM songs he shared. A few months ago Owen again personally arranged an original medley of one of his favorite musical artists, Beck, and today he’s unveiled a lengthy medley mixing more than 30 Radiohead songs.
York’s medley spans 24 years of Radiohead’s music and includes solo piano takes on “Paranoid Android,” “Creep,” “Karma Police,” “Idioteque,” “Fake Plastic Trees,” “Lotus Flower,” “Weird Fishes/Arpeggi” and more. Take a look at Owen’s latest medley:
In the fall, York will begin his second year in Rockland Youth Jazz Ensemble, an extraordinary group of students from New York and New Jersey. Owen is the ensemble’s pianist and its youngest member.
