Steely Dan have only made a handful of appearances on television since the band was formed in 1972. Two of those appearances took place on the Late Show With David Letterman in the years after the Dan’s 1993 reunion which followed a breakup that spanned over a decade.

Walter Becker, Donald Fagen and Co. made their Late Show debut in 1995 when they performed “Josie.” The appearance marked Steely Dan’s return to late night for the first time in over 20 years. Watch how the Dan’s October 20, 1995 performance went down:
Five years later Steely Dan returned to the Late Show in support of Two Against Nature, their first new studio album in 20 years.
