Allman Brothers To Release Two 1992 Performances

Outside of the re-issue of the Allman Brothers Band’s Brothers And Sisters album earlier this year, which included a live set from 1973, it’s been a long time since the Allmans have mined their vaults. That will change in February, when Sony releases two live archival sets: the 2-CD Play All Night: Live At The Beacon Theater 1992 and a new version of The Allman Brothers Band Live at Great Woods featuring the entire performance, not interrupted by interviews.

Both releases feature former member Dickey Betts, who left the band’s employ in 2000, and the late Allen Woody on bass. Play All Night: Live At The Beacon Theater 1992 was recorded during the group’s first extended run at the Beacon Theatre, specifically from March 10 and 11, 1992. The shows were originally recorded for the An Evening With The Allman Brothers Band release, but only one track off Play All Night appears on An Evening With -“Revival.” Play All Night: Live At The Beacon Theater 1992 is set for a February 18 release.

Sony will also release the new version of The Allman Brothers Band Live at Great Woods on February 18. The DVD contains the entire Summer ’92 performance the ABB laid down in Mansfield, MA.
