Zach Bryan celebrated Independence Day by dropping his fifth studio album, The Great American Bar Scene, via Belting Bronco/Warner. The 19-track LP arrives just over 10 months after the release of the country star’s Zach Bryan album and includes guest spots from John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen, Noeline Hofmann and John Moreland.
The Great American Bar Scene comes in the midst of Bryan’s hugely successful Quittin Time Tour. The new album features recently released singles “Pink Skies” and “Purple Gas,” the latter a collaboration with Canadian singer-songwriter Noeline Hofmann. Zach Bryan enlisted John Mayer and Bruce Springsteen, who each made guest appearances during Quittin Time Tour stops, to add to “Better Days” and “Sandpaper” respectively.
Bryan promoted the album by spinning cuts from the LP at 21 of his favorites bars across the U.S. and Canada ahead of its release. The Great American Bar Scene is a self-produced effort featuring 18 songs and a poem. The latter, “Lucky Enough (Poem),” opens the record. While the new album is Bryan’s fifth, his first two were DIY affairs leading up to his major label debut, 2022’s American Heartbreak.
