Zac Brown Band Adds Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac & Alannah Myles Covers To Live Repertoire

Zac Brown Band recently returned to the road for the first four dates of their 2025 tour. The country-rock ensemble debuted three new covers that made each setlist.

The run began with a two-night stand at the new Nashville venue The Pinnacle on April 1 and 2. Zac Brown Band then played Maryland’s Theater at MGM National Harbor on April 4 before closing the brief excursion at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia on April 5.

The group brought out teenage guitar prodigy Grace Bowers on April 1 in Nashville to join them for their first-ever cover of Alannah Myles’ “Black Velvet.” Zac Brown Band member Caroline Jones stepped into the spotlight to handle lead vocal duties on the 1989 hit.

Caroline Jones also served as the band’s Stevie Nicks to Zac Brown's Lindsey Buckingham for takes on the Fleetwood Mac classic “The Chain.” The song is the lone track from Fleetwood Mac’s iconic 1977 album Rumours with writing credits for all five members.

Zac Brown Band closed out each early April show by performing the title track off Michael Jackson’s legendary 1982 LP Thriller. “We just started doing this one y’all, so be gentle with us. It’s a lot of fun, so we hope you have fun with it,” Brown told the crowd before the “Thriller” encore in Charlottesville.
