Early next year Colorado jamgrass act Yonder Mountain String Band will release their sixth studio album. Today, the band has previewed the as-of-yet-untitled LP by premiering the video for the album’s first single, “Alison” via Rolling Stone.
The five-piece recorded the official video for “Alison” in the gorgeous mountain town of Telluride using drones. “Alison” is said to be written about a “creeper” with shocking behavior and is sung by Dave Johnston. “[Guitarist] Adam Aijala and I had a lot of fun developing this tune, and it went through a couple of good tweaks,” banjo-playing singer Dave Johnston told Rolling Stone. “The speaker is sort of a stalker type, but he’s also prone to getting duped, so it ends up being a hopeless situation for him. I can’t tell, though, if I feel sorry for him or not.”
