Revising a similar format utilized for their 1990 album Fakebook, Hoboken-based rockers Yo La Tengo have announced a new album Stuff Like That There which will be issued on August 28 through Matador Records. Like Fakebook, the new record will feature a mix of covers (including The Cure, Hank Williams, The Parliaments and others), new originals and reworkings of previously released Yo La Tengo songs. For Stuff Like That There, guitarist Ira Kaplan, drummer Georgia Hubley and bassist James McNew reunited with former guitarist Dave Schramm who contributed to Fakebook 25 years ago.

In support of Stuff Like That There, Yo La Tengo will set off on world tour beginning September 23 in Troy, New York. The tour will feature Kaplan on acoustic guitar, Hubley out front on a small drum kit and McNew on upright bass -a first of its kind set-up for the band. More East Coast theater dates follow in September and into October before the band heads overseas for a European Tour throughout the rest of the month. They return stateside for a gig November 5 at The Vic Theatre in Chicago prior to setting off for a run of shows on the West Coast to close out the month.
