Last night the Chicago Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians in one of the greatest World Series games of all-time to claim their first championship since 1908. The Cubs put to rest the notion of a curse and gave their faithful fans a season they will never forget. One such faithful fan is Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder, who penned a song called “All The Way” in 2007 predicting exactly what happened on Wednesday night. The Cubs have shared a tear-jerking montage for “All The Way” showing off the incredible scenes of the World Series and The Northsiders’ victory.

Vedder was asked to write a song about the Cubs by one of the team’s most beloved players of all-time, Ernie Banks, at a Fantasy Camp the pair attended. Eddie debuted “All The Way” at Chicago’s Vic Theatre on August 2, 2007. In 2008 a single of “All The Way” was released which was culled from recordings of Eddie’s solo renditions of the tune on August 21 and 22, 2008 at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago. Watch the moving “All The Way” montage the Cubs have shared:
