WILLOW (Willow Smith) offered a preview of her next chapter on Jimmy Kimmel Live, performing “Talk On The Hill” and sitting down with guest host Ike Barinholtz to discuss The Thread, her upcoming album exploring spirituality, connection and self-discovery.

Smith’s ninth LP and second of 2026, which she calls a “devotional” album, arrives next Friday, July 24. The Thread is described in press materials as “a musical offering imbued with feminine softness – an intoxicating blend of pop melodies, supported by syncopated rhythms, creating a listening experience that feels both intimate and ceremonial in its pursuit of an open heart.”

WILLOW talked to Barinholtz about the genesis of The Thread, growing up in an artistic family and the diverse array of music she enjoys. Smith also reeled off a list of some of her favorite bands, including System Of A Down, Deftones and Metallica.

“Talk On The Hill” was inspired by The Telepathy Tapes, a podcast created by award-winning documentary filmmaker Ky Dickens. WILLOW was backed by her touring band on a performance featuring several twists and turns.
