Willie Nelson Guests With Beck In Kansas City

Beck recently began a short Spring Tour of festivals and theaters last Friday night at Kansas City’s Starlight Theatre. The opening night of the run of shows was a co-bill with country legend Willie Nelson. After Nelson and his Family band opened the concert, the Red Headed Stranger returned to assist Beck on a Jimmie Rodgers cover.

A few songs into his set, Beck welcomed Nelson back to the stage for a rendition of “Waiting for a Train,” a song made famous by Rodgers in the 1920s. Nelson needed a lyric sheet to make it through the song but the result was a special collaboration between the artists from different generations.

Beck performs again tomorrow, Tuesday May 19 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in Charleston, South Carolina. Tickets are available here.
