Willie Nelson Taps Bob Dylan, The Avett Brothers & More For 4th Of July Picnic 2025

Outlaw country icon Willie Nelson is bringing his annual 4th of July Picnic back to his home state of Texas this summer. Austin’s Germania Insurance Amphitheater will host the Independence Day concert on Friday, July 4.

The eight-hour show will feature performances from Willie Nelson & Family, Bob Dylan, The Avett Brothers, The Mavericks, Asleep at the Wheel and Tami Neilson. “I’m 92 years old and I’ll be there so you have no excuse,” wrote Willie Nelson in a press release. “I look forward to bringing back my annual 4th of July Picnic to the city I love and sharing this special event with all my Austin fans.”

Willie Nelson’s first 4th of July Picnic was held in 1973 at Hurlbut Ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas. Last year’s concert took place in Camden, New Jersey across the river from Philadelphia.

Willie Nelson’s upcoming schedule includes the 2025 Outlaw Music Festival Tour. The 10th anniversary excursion runs from May 13 through September 19 with its revolving lineup featuring the likes of Bob Dylan, The Avett Brothers, Billy Strings, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Wilco, Lucinda Williams, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and more.
