This evening, Phil Lesh & Friends take the stage at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York for the first of ten shows the Grateful Dead bassist’s ensemble will play at the historic venue over the course of five consecutive weekends. Before that, The Cap hosted Wilco for a three-night stand that finished with a tribute to the Grateful Dead on Thursday night.

Jeff Tweedy and Co. played 89 different songs over the course of the three nights in Port Chester, with a cover of Doug Sahm’s “Give Back The Key To My Heart” serving as the lone repeat throughout the run. Wilco dug deep and included plenty of rarities in each show. For the closing number of last night’s finale, Wilco performed “Ripple” by the Grateful Dead for the first time since August 4, 2013 and only the fourth time ever. Tweedy led off the cover by saying, “I think it really would be nice if you guys, because you don’t want to hear us sing it.” The group, who were performing unplugged as they did for each encore on the run, let the capacity crowd sing the lyrics to the Garcia/Hunter classic.
