Chicago rockers Wilco have headlined many venues in their home city, but while they performed as a musical guest on a 2006 episode of Late Night With Conan O’Brien at the Chicago Theatre they have yet to play a full show at the historic theater. Wilco will finally get an opportunity to headline the iconic Chicago Theatre come February.
The band has announced three shows at the Chicago Theatre for the return of their Wilco Winterlude series. Wilco’s performances at the Chicago Theatre are scheduled for February 22, 23 and 25. The shows are billed as Wilco’s first hometown reserved-seat theatre performances in five years. Jeff Tweedy & Co. celebrated their 20th anniversary back in December of 2014 with a six-night Wilco Winterlude residency at The Riviera Theatre in Chicago, where they played few repeats on their way to a total of 120 different tunes.
Tickets for all three shows go on sale with a strict four-ticket limit this Friday, November 18 at 11 a.m. CT via Ticketmaster.
