Chicago-based rock band Wilco has confirmed a hometown performance this summer. The group announced they will return to the city’s Millennium Park for a show at Jay Pritzker Pavilion.
Wilco will treat fans to a hometown gig on Sunday, August 21. The announcement references yet-to-be-named “very special guests” will be joining Jeff Tweedy and crew. A presale of tickets begins Wednesday, February 24 at 10 a.m. CT with general on sale starting Friday, FEbruary 26 at 11 a.m. CT.
Tweedy revealed in a recent interview that a new Wilco album has been recorded and is ready to be released this year. A recent episode of CBS Saturday Morning featured Wilco as part of the show’s Saturday Sessions series. Watch Wilco perform “More…,” “Taste the Ceiling” and “Random Name Generator” from their 2015 LP Star Wars during a recent two-night stand at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York.
